      * Each session last two hours.*
      * All seminars are compulsory for students of Structured Music Courses*
      * Other course students, parish choir members and interested persons are also welcome to join in. Seminars are free of charge and any donation are greatly appreciated.*



    I. Introduction to Opera

    Opera is a synthetic art, which combines music, drama and dance. The course is to bring you to understand the backgrounds, the meanings, the beauty and the influences of famous operas in music history.

    II. Sing a new song to the Lord(one session)

    Content
    Moses sang the Old Song. The New Song begins in the sixth century before Christ.

    There are other examples of making music in the Old Testament.

    In the New Testament there are many instances of singing.

    We shall also look the Catechism of the Catholic Church, applying some of the above ideas to our life.

    III. Music Education and the Church

    Content The talk will include why there is a need in raising the music standard within the Church, and what are the proper attitudes toward music ministry.

    IV. Music and Well Being (one sessions)

    (Due to other personal commitment of the speaker, seminar will be rescheduled to another day.)

    Speaker Dr. Thomas A. Wong
    Content
    Music is a branch of Arts, while “Well being” is a state of body condition.  The course is designed to connect these two different subjects in nature together.

    Dr. Wong will explain the importance of Arts and how it affects each one of us.  He urges music students to expand their knowledge of our body function in order to maintain a healthy condition.

    Dr. Wong will introduce what is Chiropractic in the modern world.  He will explain the function of respiratory system and the importance of the spine to our body.  He will teach us how to maintain proper posture, doing stretching exercises and how to choose the right kind of sports in order to keep good condition for the spine.  He will also talk about common natural foods and Chinese herbs which are good for our health and our skeletal system.

    Dr. Wong will teach us some easy self help exercise in order to relief our pain when we face small problems like hiccup and coughing…etc.

    With the knowledge of health cultivation, Dr. Wong hopes that the audience will achieve a higher level in their own music world.
